Photography Assignment
Self Assignment - 3 parts
A self assignment is used to further your own interest in photography. For most self assignments you set your self a goal to take so many pictures in a set period of time on a set theme. This is a three part assignment (or three mini assignments). You will hand in a portfolio of 10 pictures for each of the following. You may choose how to submit your portfolio (30 pictures). (Ex. slide show, collage, prints, ...)
Limit your self to a maximum of 2 hours of shooting for each of the following. Take as many pictures as you can and only hand in your best work.
1. Theme - colour
2. Theme - school
3. Theme - choice
You must hand in 30 distinct images that you took. Creativity is a must. Use the rules of photography to guide you.
Some rules of photography to contemplate:
1. Perspective
- eye level
- bird's eye view (high angle)
- worm's eye view (low angle)
- move your feet
2. Composition
- Rule of Thirds
- Fill the frame
- Depth of Field
- Balance, Symmetry, Pattern, Texture, Lines
- portrait vs landscape
- What is the focal point of your image?
Remember - What you see in the view finder will be in your picture and obviously what you don't see won't be.
Move your self.
Look outside the box.
Be creative.
Have fun.
